Reviews for Ridgid R4510 Heavy-Duty Portable Table Saw with Stand (Tools & Home Improvement) Better than anticipated. First I must say after studying 50 to 100 evaluations I've decided that most folks are model diehards; you realize a Chevy man will nearly always be a Chevy guy and a Ford guy will almost at all instances keep a Ford man. I began out supposeing I would purchase the Craftsman portable table saw with the in-built router desk, I checked out Makita, Bosch, Dewalt, Ryobi and some differents. However, after reading the assessments, checking out the jobsite noticeds in particular person and after looking at the Ridgid 14648 demonstated on [...], I thought that was once the saw I needed. Most of the evaluates rated the Ridgid a notch higher than the remainder. I went to my local Home Depot and found that the Ridgid 14648 on display was once now not the version within the box so I went to all four HDs in my local space and none had a Ridgid 14648 in the field. So now what do I do? All the show editions had been missing pieces. Seems whereas I was once searching differents had been buying. The R4510 had a distinct stand, software storage and the blade shield. I also discovered that not all of the fielded noticeds showed the blade protect and anti-kick again pawls nor listed them on the field. Well I discovered one HD that had one Ridgid R4510 left in stock, the week prior to they'd two. Even the HD web site stated this model wasn't to be had and it had been two weeks before. Many web pages listed this saw for about $695; a more fashionable worth was $574 and one for $522. Home Depot had it for $499. I discovered that many folks had been checklist this saw used for $499. I'm now satisfied I bought the Ridgid R4510.

    Pros

    1. The gravity-rise stand may be very good; super straightforward to fold and unfold. I even have a Delta fuel assisted stand for my miter saw and I concept it was nice however the Ridgid is "first rate". The left aspect of the stand also will make stronger plywood when ripping it.
    2. The right side of the desk amplifys to 25", just elevate the lever, slide the table out and push the locking lever backtrack.
    3. The rip fence and blade have been aligned proper out of the box and the rip fence slides very easily.
    4. Setup time: quarter-hour to learn the manual and 5 minutes to position the rip fence, miter gage, push stick, blade defend and anti-kickback pawls on the noticed. Oh! And 5 minutes to unbox the noticed.
    5. The R4510 has a break up blade protect for bevel reduces, spreader/riving knives, push stick, and anti-kickback pawls.
    6. The onboard software and cord storage work nice.
    7. Has in-built chip/dust collection port excellent for a shop vac.
    8. The massive wheels work nice for a bumpy space.
    9. Heavy enough to remain in situation whereas ripping.
    10. Send within the registration and it has a lifetime service guarantee to the unique customer.
Reviews for Ridgid R4510 Heavy-Duty Portable Table Saw with Stand (Tools & Home Improvement) I have been searching for about two months now, looking for the perfect saw. I narrowed my picks, ever so gradually, to two. The Bosch and the Ridgid.R4510. I went to Home Depot and Lowes to look at each and every one, and went back to every two times. Luckily the stores have been within two minutes of every other. I closed them, opened them, performed with the changes, extended the desk, tilted the blade, disassembled and reassembled the defends (I suppose they are identical) and moved the fence. for the document, i did own the Bosch and beloved it however someone loved it extra and took it to their house, from mine. So, i had to get a substitute. I hope they seize the little bastard!!!!!!! i regress. The very first factor i now noticed was the fence on the Ridgid used to be so much smoother.
Reviews for Ridgid R4510 Heavy-Duty Portable Table Saw with Stand (Tools & Home Improvement) I'm a carpenter by alternate and do the whole lot from frame to finish. I've had expertise with the Dewalt, Bosch, and Rigid moveable desk saws.

The dewalt I've used (dont take into account that the adaptation number) had a small table and an archaic fence adjustment that required you to turn a knob that moved the fence by method of a tools on a monitor (hard to even explain). It was vulnerable to the opposide facet of the fence skipping a toothe and turning into misaligned. Plus it was once gradual to do.

The Bosch used to be a good saw, had a perfect stand, and general was once smartly notion out. It's handiest downfall is that it's bit light. I understand, I recognize, mild weight should be a plus proper!? Well all of us like our save desk saws because mass makes accuracy eaiser. I'm still (kinda) young so I don't thoughts a chunk of extra weight if it implys a higher cut.

The Rigid saw is each bit as excellent because the Bosch, with a just a little massiver table and as a consequence a piece extra mass as well. Also, at least from HD, it is more price-effective too.

One factor I really have not tried on the others but I know is an issue on the Rigid is, If you are making your particular personal throat plate, the saw blade won't recess deep sufficient into the physique. (this is difficult for me to provide an explanation for..) After you could have minimize your plate so that it fits in it is location on the saw, you want to have to bring the blade all of the method down, activate the noticed, and let the blade reduce the slot as you elevate it again up... make sense? OK. You cannot somewhat do this with a 10" blade on this noticed. You'll have to situation on an 8" blade, make the cut, then swap again or whathaveyou.

Oh, it is usually anxious that not one in all the stands these saws include have 10" or 12" wheels. The inventory wheels won't roll over stairs. So unless you modify your stand you wish to use two people to safely carry it over finished stair treads. I have managed to awkwardly pull it up stairs without scraping the body on them, but on some jobs it is far to dangerous.

Ultimately, if the Bosch and Rigid saws had been the same price I'd nonetheless go Rigid (no pun intended). If the Bosch were $50 less, then I'd really need to think about it...
